Foreign Language Assessment
Language placement assessment is required for students who wish to enroll in a foreign language or to satisfy the language requirement for all majors awarded by the following degree-granting colleges: College of Arts & Sciences, Education, International & Area Studies, and Journalism. In addition to all majors in these degree-granting colleges, some specific majors in other degree-granting colleges require foreign language. It is important to understand which majors at OU will have a foreign language requirement. Reviewing your major requirements at http://ou-public.courseleaf.com/ (click on Academic Majors – Undergraduate and Graduate) will help you understand if foreign language courses are required for your degree(s) of interest.
Students required to take the language placement assessment will do so during their scheduled New Sooner Orientation Day.
