Kingston, OK (73439) Weather Forecast

The University of Oklahoma Biological Station facilities include a variety of housing options for visitors to the north shore of Lake Texoma. The station’s available apartments and residence halls support approximately 100-120 adults or 190 youth while long-term researchers are housed in one of three fully-furnished apartments and resident faculty and staff in Apartment Building “A.”  All of UOBS’s housing facilities are designed for multiple occupants. Adult groups consisting of mainly couples desiring private accommodations considerably reduces the available space. A laundry facility, centrally located on campus, is available to all guests.

Guests are responsible for providing their own bed linens, towels and toiletries. Sleeping bags are strongly recommended as rooms may consist of a combination of beds (e.g. full, sofa bed, twin and bunk bed). There are no telephones, televisions or radios in the rooms. Also, no cooking facilities are available for guests; therefore, groups should make arrangements with the Food Service Manager for meals.

The station’s Brillhart Hall can house up to 121 people. Other than one large barracks-style room and bathroom facility, the other units have a single, private restroom. Each of these units will house from six to 14 people depending on the number of bunk sets. Rooms vary in size and sleeping capacity, but generally include a refrigerator, desk and couch. All of the units in Brillhart Hall have an air conditioning unit, but only a limited number include a heating/cooling unit.

Apartments “B” and “C” each consist of eight dwellings for a maximum capacity of 92. Maximum sleeping capacity is based on one person for every bedding unit per apartment, including rollaway beds and sofa beds. While sleeping capacity may vary from apartment to apartment, each unit generally includes a refrigerator, desk and couch. Each space comes with a heating/cooling unit and a private restroom that includes a sink, toilet and shower. All apartments have access to an outside landing with a striking view of the Lake Texoma.

UOBS provides overnight accommodations by reservation with priority given in the following order:  OU academics/researchers, guest academics/researchers, academic/research-related organizations and OU faculty/staff/alumni recreational groups.
