The University of Oklahoma Biological Station's guest researcher housing facility is available for occupancy by long-term guest researcher teams (one to six persons per apartment) or guest researchers and accompanying family members. Resident faculty and staff are housed in apartment building "A" or Brillhart Hall. Short term research guests and students are normally housed in apartment buildings "B", "C" or Brillhart Hall. You will need to complete the Research Reservation Request form to see if you qualify for the reduced researcher rate.
Each of the three apartments consist of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully-functioning kitchen, living/dining area and washer/dryer combo with one unit handicap accessible. All of the apartments are fully furnished and stocked with bed/bath linens as well as small appliances (i.e. coffee maker, toaster, can openers), dishes and pots and pans. Each apartment is also has internet access available.
The 2,800 square-foot triplex was constructed with a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and funding from OU. The apartment building rests on a 7.3 acre tract of land, adjacent to the main UOBS campus. Purchase of the 7.3 acre tract was made possible with a combination of Section 13 funds and donations. Nancy Mergler, Provost, committed Section 13 funds to cover half of the cost of the land purchase with the balance paid from donations by Carl D. and Patricia Bynum Riggs, and Kim and Nancy Hauger.
The monthly rate for renting an apartment is $390.00 Rates for a single individual are $250 per month for a private bedroom and private bathroom with access to a shared kitchen, dining/living area and washer/dryer combo.
