The first purpose of the UOSA Budgetary Committee and its Chair is to serve the Student Organizations which apply for funding. We value all groups' time and concerns and work hard to address them in a timely and professional manner.

The UOSA Budgetary Committee is to appropriate the portion of the Student Activity Fee that is budgeted by the University to be "utilized for nonacademic programs and services for students", according to the OU Student Code. The appropriations are a function of the Legislative Branch of UOSA, according to its constitution. Our committee is made up of the members of the UOSA Student Congress Ways & Means Committee and one member of the Graduate Student Senate.

The UOSA Budgetary Committee must adhere to strict rules and policies. These are found in OU Regents Policy, The OU Student Code, The UOSA Constitution, and the UOSA Student Congress Bylaws. All of these policies are outlined, condensed, and simplified within the Resources section of this website.

Our Goal Is To:

  • Allocate Student Funds in a manner that maximizes their impact on students at OU.
  • Help Student Organizations gain access to these funds in the most simple, effective way possible.
  • Conduct an absolutely fair and just budgetary process each year, following every guideline given by The Regents Policy, The OU Student Code, The UOSA Constitution, and The Student Congress Bylaws.
  • We hope that this website helps to accomplish each of these goals. The idea is to make it easy for you to know exactly how the UOSA Budgetary Process works. We also wish to make each interested OU student more knowledgeable about fees they pay to the University and how to utilize some of these fees through UOSA to carry out projects on campus. Please contact the UOSA Budgetary Chair with any questions or comments.
