Duties to the UOSA

The UOSA General Counsel’s Office serves as the chief legal counsel of the University of Oklahoma Student Association. As such, the Office serves the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of UOSA in both investigative and advisory capacities.

The General Counsel's Office is responsible for:

  • Enforcing the provisions of the UOSA Constitution and all enactments of the legislative branch;
  • Representing UOSA in any matter pending in any forum of the University in which the interests of the Student Association are concerned;
  • Investigating any subject, body, organization, etc., on order of the Legislative Branch or the UOSA President; and
  • Issuing advisory opinions, upon written request, as to the effect of any University policy, rule or regulation affecting a student organization.
