Description: COCMHC is a facility of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The Center provides treatment and rehabilitative services.

Volunteers Needed: Help in one of the following areas: recreational therapy, storeroom, housekeeping, fire and safety, and office / clerical needs.

Description: Provides health, safety, physical and spiritual help to the poor by giving hope, demonstrating God’s love, and assisting them to become independent, dignified and productive members of our community.

Volunteers Needed: Help at reception desk, tutor adults and children, mentor, maintain clothing room and medical and dental volunteers needed as well.

Description: Teaches adults, 18 or older, to read using phonics-based one-on-one tutoring and English as a second language.

Volunteers Needed: Tutor adults for one to two hours a week.

Description: Provides small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring to adults 18 and older in basic reading, spelling, mathematics and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Volunteers Needed: Tutor adults in basic reading, math and ESL one to four hours per week.

Description: An organization formed to circumvent juvenile degeneration and stifle gang growth. We have after school and summer programs for diverse economically disadvantaged students in grades 2 to 12th. Additionally, there are classes for adults with reading and speech barriers.

Volunteers Needed: Tutor in a wide range of academic subjects. (i.e. general courses, home economics, home repair, arts and crafts, business and financial management/planning, drama, physical education, music, Spanish/English and activity coordinator.

Description: Grass roots residential faith-based recovery for women and men with destructive lifestyles, abuses, and drugs. Providing hope for the once hopeless in our community.

Volunteers Needed: Need grant writers, administrative help, assist with fund raising.

Description: Non-profit outpatient mental health services. Working with children and adults who have been affected by abuse and violence, couples wanting pre-marital sessions, work with women affected by abuse, and men with anger and domestic abuse issues.

Volunteers Needed: Primarily to assist in program development, and clerical functions including writing, editing and publishing website work and computer assistance.

Description: Provides support for mental health consumers when transitioning from in-patient treatment to independent living, reducing the chances of re-hospitalization.

Volunteers Needed: Help in office; Internships / Practicum’s available for students in Human Relations and Social Work or other related fields.

Description: Provides safe, temporary housing for victims of domestic violence and their children. Residents receive individual and group counseling, as well as information on housing, job training, legal aid and financial assistance availability.

Volunteers Needed: Rape Response Team - is a group of trained volunteers who are available, upon request through the Crisis Line, to meet rape victims at the hospital emergency room. They provide victims and their families with support and information about counseling and other services. Perform general clerical tasks and receive training for a rape response team. Answer crisis phones.
