NUMBER NYNE 895-1766 Educational Psychology Department Description: A confidential service set up to aid University students, faculty and staff as well as community persons from around and outside of Norman. Hours are from 8pm to 4am, seven days a week. People who call need many different things, including a caring listener, a referral to another agency, information and suicide prevention. Volunteers Needed: Volunteers make a semester commitment that includes attending a training session, working shifts answering phones, attending the mid-semester meeting and training and advertising Number Nyne services by handing flyers or chalking sidewalks at least once during the semester.

We are committed to treating the symptoms and addressing the causes of poverty in our city. Volunteers Needed: Every week, Monday through Friday, we need volunteers to staff our food pantry from 12:30 to 2pm and/or help stock shelves in the morning. Clothes closet needs volunteers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s until 2pm. Volunteer groups needed weekly to prepare meals for approximately 100 and to serve it. Seasonal opportunities in August (Clothes for Kids) and December (Christmas Grace). Volunteers also needed to work with our unique "Jets" after school and summer programs with elementary and middle school children.
