Volunteers Needed:  Volunteers are needed in the OK-AIM (Oklahoma Advocates Involved in Monitoring) program to visit homes where people with developmental disabilities live to observe the quality of life inside the residence, then report those findings to the state.  During a home visit, a team of two volunteer monitors will evaluate four distinct criteria: Regard for the Individual, Personal Growth, Staff, and Physical Setting.  The observations made by volunteer monitors are turned in to OK-AIM staff, who in turn share the findings with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Services Division’s (OKDHS/DDSD) quality assurance office.  Provider agencies for the        residence are notified by the DDSD’s quality assurance office of any areas needing improvement.  Volunteers receive written responses after a visit, so they know when unsatisfactory items they may have reported are corrected, improved or changed.  Volunteers receive mileage reimbursement.
