Campus Activities Council will begin its 2009 Howdy Week on Sunday August 23, 2009. This year’s theme is “The Best Howdy Week Ever”.
The event will take place in various locations throughout campus, including the South Oval, Walker/Adams Mall and the Oklahoma Memorial Union. The event will include free food all week on the South Oval from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a campus wide blood drive, and free golf rides to class provided by Chi Alpha.
The event will also include an elementary school supplies drive with box located throughout campus for people to make donations.
Britan Mills, Howdy Week Chair, said the event has a unique purpose for the start of the school year. “Howdy Week welcomes new and returning students to campus by offering creative programming and opportunities tailored to fit students’ needs,” said Mills. Kely Van Eaton, CAC Chair, said Howdy Week is CAC’s premier event and meant to welcome all students, new and returning, to campus with fun entertainment all week long.
