Jim Cramer, host of CNBC’s “Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer” will be the keynote speaker at a dinner for OU business students and alumni on Oct. 29 and 30. A dinner with Cramer will be held the evening of Oct. 29, and his show will be taped before a live audience of OU students on Oct. 30.
"Jim Cramer’s visit will give OU students an excellent opportunity to hear one of the most prominent personalities on Wall Street. We appreciate the efforts of OU graduate Michael Price to bring Mr. Cramer to our campus,” said OU President David L. Boren.
Cramer’s show "Mad Money" features guest interviews, viewer calls and the fiery opinions of Cramer himself on investing.
He is markets commentator for TheStreet.com, a multimedia provider of financial commentary, analysis and news, which Cramer co-founded. In addition to writing a column for TheStreet.com, Cramer also serves as the "Bottom Line" columnist for New York magazine.
After graduating from Harvard College where he served as president and editor-in-chief of the daily The Harvard Crimson, he became a reporter for the Tallahassee Democrat and later for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, where he covered stories ranging from homicides to sports events. Cramer is a former hedge fund manager and founder/owner and senior partner of Cramer Berkowitz.
He assisted Steve Brill in launching American Lawyer magazine before attending Harvard Law School and earning a law degree. Upon graduating, passing the New York State Bar Examination and being admitted to the N.Y. State Bar, Cramer joined Goldman Sachs in sales and trading. While at Goldman, Cramer wrote for The New Republic about the stock market. On Oct. 13, Cramer will publish his newest book "Jim Cramer's Getting Back to Even." In December 2007, he published his latest book, “Stay Mad For Life: Get Rich, Stay Rich.” Cramer is also the author of “Mad Money: Watch TV, Get Rich, Jim Cramer's RealMoney, Confessions of a Street Addict and You Got Screwed.”
Student admission tickets to the taping will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at ticket events on Oct. 13th from 10am to 2pm in the Clary Lounge on the first floor of Price Hall and on Oct. 14th from 10am to 2pm in the first floor lobby of Oklahoma Memorial Union.
