Submission Guidelines For Children Authors (Ages 9-13)

WLT Kids is looking for submissions that portray your life. WLT Kids will publish original short stories, poetry, informational pieces about your country, region, or town, or descriptions of hobbies, arts and crafts, music or leisure activities in your geographic area. You may also submit your response to any of the activities in previous issues. Tell us which issue and which activity you are submitting. We will also consider original drawings and photographic art about your area or to illustrations to your writings.

Short stories, the informational pieces, or descriptions should be approximately 75-500 words.
We prefer typed up manuscripts submitted by email to wltkids@ou.edu . If, however, the access to computer is restricted in your area, neat handwriting mailed to WLT Kids is also acceptable.

Please always include your name, grade, school and contact information (parents names and address, e-mail). To publish your work, we will need parental permission and a copyright agreement. We will mail them to you.  

We only accept work that is your own, and original, not copied from someone else. That means you are the author.
Mail or email your writings to our address and please allow some time for processing before we contact you about accepting or declining your work. We will let you know we received your submission. All of the writings will be reviewed by the editor and at least one other person. We might ask you to revise your writing before we publish it.
