Instructor Information

If you would like instructional support, please visit the Learning and Teaching Program (formally the Program for Instructional Innovation) at writingcenter.ou.edu/ltp/.

The mission of the Learning and Teaching Program is to partner with OU faculty to create learning environments that develop engaged intentional learners prepared for life and work in the 21st Century.

If you would like a classroom visit from the Writing Center for your students, please email Tara Nielsen with the following:

  • number of students
  • course listing
  • person to contact (name, email, phone number)
  • type of presentation (10 minute introduction to the Writing Center or a specific topic of your choice)
  • date, time, and location of visit

To request bookmarks, email Tara Nielsen with the number requested, date requested, campus address, and course number.

Below is a statement about the writing center that you can copy and paste into your current syllabus or add to your D2L site.

Most universities have a writing center, a place for students, faculty, and staff to meet and talk about writing. The Writing Center here at OU is a resource I encourage you to use. As a writer you will want to seek feedback from many different readers. The writing consultants at the writing center are able to talk with you about your writing--at any stage in the process and for any course you are taking.
