Resources

Some educators are familiar with the ChoiceMaker Self-Determination Curriculum, which is designed to teach students the self-determination skills they need to be successful in adult life.  This curriculum consist of three strands:  (1) “Choosing Goals,” (2) “Expressing Goals”, and (3) “Taking Action”. Each strand addresses teaching objectives in three transition areas:  (1) Education, (2) Employment, and (3) Personal.
Some of these materials may be helpful to facilitate student’s abilities throughout the Student Directed Transition Planning Process. Teachers are encouraged to review the ChoiceMaker Curriculum for additional supports and materials.  References are provided for additional resources or materials used in the Student Directed Transition Planning Curriculum
