Welcome to the course website. Check this box for information about the class, and other relevant news. Here are the guidelines for the Final Exam. To review for the exam, students will work on an exercise in class this Friday (Dec. 7). Here are the instructions for the exercise; NOTE--you should do steps 1 and 2 before Friday's class, and bring your answers to class with you. For the fifth Writing Exercise students completed a web form which lead them through the guidelines for the term paper. In effect, by doing the exercise they worked up an outline for the paper. To get to the exercise, click here. At the fourth Writing Exercise (Nov. 9) each student stated which author's view is more persuasive. If you were not in class, download the exercise and go through it on your own. (You do not get credit for doing the exercise on your own; to receive credit you must do the exercise in class.) At the third Writing Exercise (Nov. 2) each student compared the views of two authors on the topic he or she chose for his or her paper. If you were not in class, download the exercise and go through it on your own. (You do not get credit for doing the exercise on your own; to receive credit you must do the exercise in class.) At the second Writing Exercise (Oct. 26) each student summarized the view of an author on the topic he or she chose for his or her paper. If you were not in class, download the exercise and go through it on your own. (You do not get credit for doing the exercise on your own; to receive credit you must do the exercise in class.) At the first Writing Exercise (Oct. 19) students worked on the topics they want to work on for their term papers.
