The University of Oklahoma application is now open at apply.ou.edu!

There are three ways your students can apply for freshman admission to OU: the OU Application; the Common Application; and the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success. There is a $40 application fee, but there are some ways students can have that waived.

We want to clearly share no matter which of the three applications a student selects, he or she will receive equal admission consideration. No preference is given based on which application a student uses to apply to OU, and the admission questions are exactly the same. We will utilize the same thorough, holistic review in our attempt to ensure the right fit.

Effective for students applying for the spring and fall semesters through 2025, OU will practice a test-optional admissions process when reviewing applications. OU will also superscore ACT/SAT scores and allow students to self report scores for admission and scholarship purposes for semesters through fall 2025. These scores must be verified at the time of enrollment.

Academic rigor and performance is most important, but we feel a student's potential is based on more than just numbers, and so we look at each individual for a range of qualities – from intellect, imagination, compassion, respect, generosity and decency, to experience, strength of character and determination to conquer challenges. Therefore, each application for admission is read thoroughly, thoughtfully and fairly to evaluate all-around excellence in academics, the arts, athletics, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. The specific categories we look at are academic rigor, engagement, essay, and letters of recommendation.

Please direct your students to these application tips to help them as they navigate the process.

As always, we encourage students to consult with our valued high school counselor partners like you or the Office of Admissions and Recruitment if there are questions about selecting the path for application for admission.
