New Sooner Orientation Day

Do you have students who have committed to the University of Oklahoma and plan to be a part of next year’s freshman class? If they haven’t done so already, please remind them to sign up for their mandatory New Sooner Orientation Day by June 15!

New Sooner Orientation Days will take place on select days from May through August. Check in begins at 8 a.m. CT, and the program will end at 4:30 p.m. CT. The entire program is mandatory for students to attend in order to be advised and enroll for fall 2019.

While students have until June 15 to register, we encourage them to sign up quickly to secure a day that works best for their schedules.

Orientation Day is a key part of every incoming freshman’s successful transition to OU. This will be when they meet with academic advisors, enroll in their first semester of classes, and learn about the resources they’ll need throughout their time at OU. Parents and guardians are also encouraged to attend and will have focused parent and family sessions while students complete their tasks.

Students can click here to sign up for their Orientation Day and for more information, including a look at the schedule for their day on campus and what to bring to orientation.

There are a few items that must be completed before students can schedule their Orientation Day and before they attend. Those are listed below, and more details can be found here.

Requirements Prior to Scheduling Orientation Day:

  1. Set up OU Account and Email
  2. Complete the New Sooner Survey
  3. Complete the Online Title IX Training
