“The University of Oklahoma gave me the opportunity to figure out who I am and what I’m really made of, while in a supportive and exciting environment. I am confident that you can identify and achieve your goals, whatever they may be, at the University of Oklahoma!"

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Oklahoma! I want to share my excitement for you as you are about to embark on an incredibly exciting time of your life.

I graduated from OU in May of 2011 with a degree in mechanical engineering. The four years I spent earning my undergraduate degree from OU were among the most influential and fulfilling years of my life. During those pivotal years, I discovered numerous topics that I found intensely interesting and traveled to places I had only dreamt of such as England and China. Perhaps most importantly, I learned that I was capable of conquering challenges and gained the confidence needed to tackle my goals.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become an engineer. However, I knew very little about the road that I would follow to get there. Luckily, while exploring the various student organizations early in my freshman year, I discovered the OU Sooner Racing Team. The Sooner Racing Team gave me the opportunity to compete in global student engineering competitions and develop a broad skillset that has been tremendously helpful in my career. Being a part of the team also allowed me to form long-lasting friendships. Now several years into a career as a test engineer with SpaceX, I am grateful for my experiences at OU, as they allowed me to enter the professional world well prepared.

The University of Oklahoma gave me the opportunity to figure out who I am and what I’m really made of, while in a supportive and exciting environment. I am confident that you can identify and achieve your goals, whatever they may be, at the University of Oklahoma!

Boomer Sooner!
