Khadija Mistry

Student Ambassador

Hii! I’m Khadija Mistry, originally from India but I grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I’m a sophomore at OU, majoring in International and Area Studies, and before that, I spent two amazing years at UWC Costa Rica (2021-2023).

I’m also the President of The United World, a space where UWCers and international students can come together and share their cultures. I stay super busy with our events and love being part of the international community here! I’m also involved with the Honors Student Diversity Council, another great group focused on inclusivity and representation.

Outside of that, I’m always up for chatting about travel, music, movies, books, or anything OU-related—there’s always something fun happening on campus!

Emmanuel Lassayo

Student Ambassador

Hello! My name is Emmanuel Hindowa Lassayo. I’m a sophomore studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma (OU), and I was born and raised in Lungi, Sierra Leone. I graduated from UWC Red Cross Nordic in 2023.

I have a deep passion for sustainability and am committed to contributing to greener energy solutions. This passion has driven me to pursue my current degree and become actively involved in student organizations like the Sustainable Energy Society (SES), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD).

Outside of academics, I’m a big fan of church, meeting new people, and staying physically active. You’ll often find me dancing with OU Afrobeatz, playing in the OU Super League, or hitting the gym. Feel free to chat about campus organizations, resources, sports, engineering, or anything else—I’m always happy to share ideas.
