Accessibility Resources

Introduction

The University of Oklahoma is committed to ensuring that our community has the resources that will set them up for success when adhering to the set standards of the University or when providing accommodations.

The University of Oklahoma is also committed to ensuring that websites and web-based software are accessible to as broad of an audience as possible.  This commitment is reflected in The University of Oklahoma's Digital Accessibility Policy.

The University abides by the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, level AA and The State of Oklahoma's Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility (EITA) Standards.

Since there is overlap between these two sets of standards, The University has compiled a set of standards that will help website designers, content managers, content owners, and application developers to more efficiently navigate the standards more.  The combined set of standards is introduced in the following pages.  It is important to note that this set of standards should be a starting point and that the full WCAG 2.0, AA is covered in detail in the link above.

Accessibility Information

The Accessibility and Disability Resource Center has created instructional and informational documents to help you create accessible course materials. These documents are available as .PDF files.

There are also training videos on Section 508 Digital Accessibility provided via Section508.gov. The University abides by the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, level AA and The State of Oklahoma's Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility (EITA) Standards, but the Accessibility videos on section 508 are a great resource for starting to learn about Digital Accessibility.

We will be bringing more of these documents and our own training videos online, so please check back frequently.
