HSC Resources for Students


HSC Student Counseling Services

The goal of Student Counseling Services is to improve the quality of students' lives.   Services include individual counseling, couples counseling, family therapy, psychological assessment, and academic coaching. HSC Student Counseling Services offers both in-person and telehealth video-conferencing appointments to OUHSC students and residents in Oklahoma.  Educational programs, workshops, and class presentations are also available upon request.  Student Students may schedule an appointment by calling: (405) 271-7336 or emailing counselors@ouhsc.edu

OU Health Student Health & Wellness Clinic

As a student at the HSC campus, your Student Health Fee contributes to Student Health Services (SHS). SHS are provided in the OU Health Family Medicine Center at 900 NE 10th St., Oklahoma City. The OU Health Student Health & Wellness Clinic provides acute and chronic care for injuries and illnesses, as well as routine preventative care. Many physician-ordered laboratory testing and X-rays are included in your Student Health Fee. The OU Health Student Health & Wellness Clinic staff will make every effort to schedule your appointment at a time that is convenient for you. Writing Center

The HSC Writing Center is a student-oriented resource, and the writing needs of the students are the first priority of the HSC Writing Center staff.  Students may visit the HSC Writing Center at any point during the writing process-from brainstorming through the final draft- and for any writing task.  The HSC Writing Center, which is located in the David L. Boren Student Union, offers writing support services free of charge on an appointment basis for all HSC students.  In-person or online appointments are available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; for more information or to schedule an appointment, please email: writingcenter@ouhsc.edu or call 405-271-2416.

Transportation/Parking

METRO-Transit operates both a fixed route and a "METRO-Lift" system.  Applications for the METRO-Lift service can be obtained by calling (405) 297-2891.  All fixed-route transit buses are wheelchair accessible.

An OUHSC parking permit can be obtained from the OUHSC Parking Office.  The permit allows students with disabilities who possess an Oklahoma Disability Parking Permit to park in any disability parking space, excluding patient and visitor parking areas.

Students and employees with a Disability Parking Permit may park in any metered space without paying the meter for double the allotted time of the meter (i.e., if the meter is a one hour meter, two hours is allowed).  Both the State of Oklahoma Disability Parking Permit and a valid OUHSC parking permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle.
