The University of Oklahoma and DGES are committed to diversity in the academy. We are mindful that this is an area that requires improvement within our department, the university, the wider fields of geography and environmental studies as well as the academy more broadly.
We have compiled this diversity plan as part of our wider effort to increase the presence of underrepresented groups in DGES and recognize the achievements of members of underrepresented groups within our department.
We also commit to continuing to think about diversity in our teaching and research, including recognizing and thinking through the scholarly contributions of scholars from diverse background.
