Peter Olson's Bio

Peter Olson is a graduate fellow at the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center at the University of Oklahoma and a PhD candidate in political science. Peter previously earned a B.A. with honors, Magna Cum Laude in Political Science at Calvin University in 2021.

Peter’s research agenda focuses on representation, ideology, and the influence of elite cues. He is currently working on a project to determine if partisan donors and volunteers are better represented in the federal government than other groups. He is also researching how China's economic and technological rise is affecting public opinion. He has presented his research at the American Political Science Association Annual Meeting, the Southern Political Science Association Annual Meeting, and the Midwest Political Science Association Annual Meeting.
