Degree Requirements

33 credit hours required
Recommended enrollments are six hours fall and spring semesters, three hours in the summer.
A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is needed for graduation.

Core Courses

Liberal Studies core courses (18 HOURS)
LSTD 5003* Intro to Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies (three hours)
LSTD 5013* Interdisciplinary Foundations (three hours)
LSCJ 5063 Research Methods for Criminal Justice (three hours)

*LSTD 5003 and 5013 must be taken as your first courses but may be taken concurrently with other courses.

Criminal Justice core courses
LSCJ 5113 Theoretical Foundations of Criminal Justice (three hours)
LSCJ 5133 Criminal Justice Policy Development (three hours)
LSCJ 5153 Ethical Decision Making for Criminal Justice (three hours)

All core courses must be completed prior to taking electives.

Degree Completion

LSTD 5980 Thesis or six hours of Criminal Justice elective coursework and written comprehensive examination
