I was a Pharmacy student and completed my B.Pharm and MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences. In my undergraduate years, I studied Pharmaceutical Biochemistry and learn how complex biochemical reactions occur in the human body and how the disturbance of one reaction can affect other systems. I always find it fascinating to find answers to these questions. So, at the Ph.D. level, I changed my field to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to satisfy my research quest about the complex phenomena in the biological system.

I joined the Center for Antibiotic Discovery and Resistance under Dr. Zgurkaya's supervision. The center focuses on the discovery of fundamental principles that govern the permeation of antibiotics into bacterial cells and utilize them for the development of novel small molecule therapeutics effective against antibiotic-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. I have been working on two different projects in this lab i)  Developing novel efflux pump inhibitors and identifying their mechanism using Escherichia coli as a model organism. ii) Identify how efflux pump inhibitors bind and inhibit the efflux of antibiotics by MexF transporter in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

After finishing my Ph.D. , I plan to exploit my scientific knowledge in any field of Scientific advancement especially industrial sectors.
