Bacteria are deceptively simple organisms that can quickly respond and adapt to environmental stimuli. Better understanding the mechanisms behind these adaptations in the context of public health can help us develop better treatment strategies and improve patient outcomes.
I am currently working in the lab of Professor Rice, studying the effects of resistance to the potentiator molecule branched polyethylenamine (BPEI) in the pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Following graduation, I'd like to return to the pharmaceutical industry and work on drug development and discovery.
