Travel Award Online Application
Travel Guidelines & Application
The Department of Health and Exercise Science makes available a limited amount of travel funding for outstanding HES undergraduate and graduate students making strong progress toward degree completion.
Eligibility and Guidelines
· Must be formally declared as a HES major
· Must be in good academic standing and have an OU GPA of 3.00 or better
· Must be enrolled during the semester in which he/she receives the award, excluding summer
· Application must be submitted at least 30 days prior to travel
· Eligible students can receive one travel award per academic year
· Cannot be used to defray the cost of any study abroad program
· Undergraduate students may request up to $150 for any academic travel
· Graduate students may request up to $200 for any academic travel
To apply, complete the online application, from a computer or mobile device, at least 30 days prior to your travel dates. You will receive a decision letter, by email, no later than 14 days prior to your planned travel.

G. Michael Simms Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Master of Science graduate student
Completion of at least 15 credit hours of graded graduate-level work at OU
Minimum GPA of 3.5 in all graduate-level work.
Helen Riddle Research Scholarship
This scholarship is to support innovative doctoral student research for those candidates that have completed their comprehensive exams.
Doctoral Scholarship Award
This scholarship is to recognize significant academic achievements for those enrolled in the doctoral programs.
Travis Beck Memorial Scholarship
The Travis Beck Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Beck and his service to the HES Department. This $1000.00 award is given each year to an eligible doctoral student currently enrolled in the Department of Health and Exercise Science. Eligible HES doctoral students may apply for the award each year they are eligible. Students may receive the award more than once.

Travis Beck Memorial Scholarship - Masters
The Travis Beck Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Beck and his service to the HES Department. This $250.00 award is given each year to an eligible masters student currently enrolled in the Department of Health and Exercise Science. Eligible HES masters students may apply for the award each year they are eligible. Students may receive the award more than once.
