Undergraduate Departmental Scholarships

Each year HES awards two $500 undergraduate scholarships and one $500 graduate scholarship to students who meet the criteria below. Applications are due February 1.

Virginia Morris Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
An undergraduate major in HES (junior or senior classification)
Completed, at time of application, at least 60 credit hours of University coursework
Completed, at time of application, at least 9 credit hours in HES core curriculum
Minimum 3.25 combined retention GPA

Mary Ann Price Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
An undergraduate major in HES (senior classification)
Completed, at time of application, at least 90 credit hours of University coursework
Completed, at time of application, at least 12 credit hours in the HES core curriculum
Minimum 3.5 combined retention GPA

Students who are eligible for either or both scholarships should apply at the university's Centralized Academic Scholarship Hub

Travel Award & Guidelines

The Department of Health and Exercise Science makes available a limited amount of travel funding for outstanding HES undergraduate and graduate students making strong progress toward degree completion.

Eligibility and Guidelines

  • Must be formally declared as a HES major
  • Must be in good academic standing and have an OU GPA of 3.00 or better
  • Must be enrolled during the semester in which he/she receives the award, excluding summer
  • The application must be submitted at least 30 days prior to travel
  • Eligible students can receive one travel award per academic year
  • Cannot be used to defray the cost of any study abroad program
  • Undergraduate students may request up to $150 for any academic-related travel
  • Graduate students may request up to $200 for any academic-related travel

To apply, complete the online application, from a computer or mobile device, at least 30 days prior to your travel dates. You will receive a decision letter, by email, no later than 14 days prior to your planned travel.
