Chelsea Frazier is a PhD candidate studying nineteenth century social reforms in Native American communities. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in Music in 2011 and a MA in History with a minor in American Indian Studies in 2014. Her thesis focused on U.S.-Lakota political relationship during the nineteenth century. Under the direction of Dr. Warren Metcalf, her dissertation focuses on temperance reforms in Native American communities during the nineteenth century. She is particularly interested in how temperance and other social reforms within Native communities strengthened tribal sovereignty.
