"Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed math and excelled at it. It wasn't until taking AP calculus in high school that I realized I wanted to pursue further education in the field of mathematics.

"I had learned from a high school teacher that there is a profession called an actuary, where you can use mathematics to analyze risk in different companies. This intrigued me and is now what I aim to do with my mathematics degree.

"Of the classes I have had to take so far to complete my degree, I think I have most enjoyed the discrete math class that I am currently enrolled in."
