Profile

Hossam Barakat is a native of Cairo, Egypt. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Ain Shams University, Cairo in 1993. He has extensive experience teaching Arabic, having taught the language at the University of Oklahoma since 2005 to the present and teaching in Middlebury's immersion summer program from 2010-present.

Prior to coming to Norman, he taught Arabic at a variety of institutions, including the Middle East Institute and Berlitz in Washington, D.C., the Inlingua International Language Centers in Maryland and Virginia, the Rainbow School in Binghamton, New York, as well as the Dutch Institute in Cairo, Egypt.
