Profile:

Daniel Anderson joined the University of Oklahoma community in 2016. He is the First Year Spanish Coordinator and Spanish Instructor in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. As coordinator and Spanish instructor, he directs the 1000-level Spanish classes and teaches several courses in the undergraduate program.

Prior to joining the OU faculty, Mr. Anderson taught English at the Universidad Internacional in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Spanish at Baldwin-Wallace University, the University of Kentucky, and Kenyon College. Throughout his career, he has taught numerous beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish courses, including composition, conversation, and Hispanic film and literature.

Mr. Anderson’s research interests include Contemporary Latin American and Peninsular Literature and Culture, 15th- to 19th-Century Latin American Literature and Culture, and Film Studies. He is particularly interested in the intersection of politics and cinema in 20th-century Latin America.
