We are pleased to open the application period for the 2025 Outstanding Senior Awards and the Carl Albert Award from the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences (DFCAS). This is a combined application which allows you to apply for one or both of these awards using one application.
Each spring, we select DFCAS Outstanding Seniors from each of our four academic areas: Humanities (one award), Social Sciences (two awards), Natural Sciences (three awards), and Professional Programs (one award). NOTE: Please see the guide at the bottom of the email for college majors and their academic areas.
The DFCAS Outstanding Senior Awards are the highest honors we bestow each year on graduating seniors in each of these divisions. The three criteria for the awards are: demonstrated academic achievement (minimum gpa of 3.25), excellence of character, and service to the Dodge Family College of Arts & Sciences and university. NOTE: The Carl Albert Award minimum gpa is 3.6.
You must be scheduled to receive your first bachelor’s degree in December 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025. NOTE: December 2024 graduates MUST be available in the spring to interview and attend the awards ceremony on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10 a.m.
The selection process will include a review of each student's completed application, uploads of transcript, resume, essay and two letters of recommendation. And if you are a final candidate, you will be called for a personal interview with our selection committee. Each outstanding senior receives a cash award of $1,500, the Carl Albert winner receives a cash award of $3,000, and both are recognized at a spring awards ceremony (Friday, April 11, 2025).
