Rin Ferraro, PhD candidate in Sociology, was accepted into the Interdisciplinary Training Program at the Center for Child Abuse and Neglect, in the Department of Pediatrics, at OU HSC. This interdisciplinary, year-long training program in the field of child abuse and neglect will include both classroom teaching and hands-on experience. For the past year, Rin has worked with Dr. Maher as a Research Assistant on a random control trial evaluating the effectiveness of an intensive family preservation program called Intensive Safety Services. This training program will complement that ongoing work and set her up for strong scholarship with a practical focus in this field as she benefits from the perspectives of law, social work, medicine, and other disciplines.
