Julie is primarily interested in how policies and institutions marginalize certain populations and reproduce inequality. Her research has focused on social regulations that are intended to improve public safety but promote unequal opportunities and statuses in consequence. Dr. Gerlinger’s work has been published in the Journal of School of Violence, Criminal Justice Policy Review, Journal of Adolescent Health, and Health Behavior and Policy Review.
