Farzaneh Family Scholarship for Iranian Students

The Farzaneh Family’s support the Iranian and Persian Gulf Studies at OU includes scholarships to OU students who meet the criteria and are citizens of Iran. This generous gift of  $1,500 for fall 2022 semester to OU Iranian students is provided to assist those who have a significant financial need.

Eligibility Criteria (Please Read Carefully):

• Must be a current full-time, regularly enrolled student at the University of Oklahoma
• Must be a citizen of Iran (U.S. citizens are not eligible)
• Must be on an F1 student visa
• Must not be an immediate family member of the donor
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, as indicated on current academic transcript
• Must submit all required documents (see application) including a current transcript showing up-to-date GPA and fall 2022 course enrollment. Applications that do not have the required documents will be denied.
• Students who have graduated and are on OPT are not eligible for this scholarship.

**Optional essay** Additional $200 scholarship will be awarded to a top essay.

Write a minimum 750-word scholarly essay on the following topic: “Compare and contrast how your field of study is taught in Iran vs. the U.S.”   

Deadline to apply: November 10, 2022

**Scholarships will be dispersed to qualified students by December 30, 2022.
