Komodo Dragon

Growing up to ten feet long, it is the largest lizard in the world.

It can run as fast as a dog for short stretches and prey they merely injure are brought down shortly by the deadly bacteria in their mouths. They spend their days sunning and their nights in shallow burrows.

They inhabit the Komodo islands south of Indonesia.

The komodo uses its sense of smell as its primary sensory system.

Although komodo dragons are reptiles, they are not directly descended from them, but rather share a common ancestor.
