- This purpose of this assignment is to introduce you to the Netware Administrator Tool
- This assignment is to be completed on the MIS 4223 test lan located in the graduate lab across from AH100 (Two machines located on the south east corner of the southern most table in the room).
- Turn on the server computer. You will be prompted for a password. Enter the one given in class
- Turn on the client computer. Enter ADMIN for the user id. Enter the password given in class
- Go to file manager after windows is invoked
- Invoke NWADMIN from Z:PUBLIC - this will start the Netware Administrator Tool
- Refer to pages 374 through 383 in your Clarke book for help with the following tasks and click here for additional help
- Create a user object (see steps 1,2,3 on page 374). Specify a Login Name of X---1 where the three dashes represent your first, middle, and last initials. The final character is the digit "1", not "L". If you do not have a middle initial, specify an X. For example, my login name would be XSSK1. If someone else happens to have your same initials, take the next available number (i.e., the digit 2)for the last position. For example, if XSSK1 was already in use for a login name, I would try XSSK2. If XSSK2 was already in use, I would try XSSK3, etc. Next put your last name and OU student ID in the last name field. Also, check the box for Create Home Directory. Make your home directory name the same as your login name.
- Add user restrictions to your login ID. This is also done from NWADMIN. Select the appropriate command button to add the restriction. Restrict login time from 6am-8pm Monday through Saturday. Expire your login password in 30 days. Allow only 3 concurrent connections for your login ID.
- Create a user group object almost identical to your login ID. However, specify a G instead of an X in the first position.
- I will check the LAN for your work. You do not need to e-mail any work to me.
