Important Accessories
    (All Should Be Acid Free)

What is Acid Free?   For paper or adhesives to be acid free it must be pH
neutral which is 7.0 or higher. Acid-free paper will keep its color and not yellow over time. Acid-free adhesive or glue will not cause chemical degradation to your paper, photos or memorabilia. Any material that contains acid will destroy your photos.  For definitions of other important scrapbooking terms click here  Glossary Terms

    Paper

Papers used in your scrapbook should be acid-free, lignin-free and buffered.  There are many types and styles of papers to choose from.  Selecting your papers from a reputable scrapbook or art store should ensure that they will be safe for your album.

    Ink

Since journaling your scrapbook is as important as the photos, the ink use to tell the stories also should be safe.  My favorite pens to use are Micron pens by Sakura. This pens come in a variety of tips and are also waterproof and fade resistant.
