greek One of the most famous of all buildings is the Parthenon - Athens, Greece (448-432 B.C.) [pictured]         Classical Greek architecture lasted from 479 to 323 B.C..  An important developement was the stylized treatment of columns, capitals (the termination of a column), and entablature (horizontal elements).  These styles were later named: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian.
