Dynamite Guy

Our day starts pretty early, and we don't always have the same crew members.  We meet at the job site and very often it is a surprize who shows up to help.

We usually get on site about daybreak.  The first thing is to figure the best places to unload the explosives while we survey the 360 holes we drilled the previous 5 days.
First we usually lay everything out.  We put the explosives, the detonators, and the triggers beside each hole.  The 10 foot holes are in 3 rows 6 feet apart.
We are removing about 10 feet of very hard, limestone and shale.  The contractor will fill the core with compacted clay that prevents the dam from seeping or leaking.
