These rustic dorms were part of a 52 person (live-in) camp designed to be constructed (in part) by the camp members using local (native) oak and pine.  The ceilings were vaulted trusses, with tongue and groove lumber.  The porches were very large and so were the breezy screened windows.  Site plan and Architectural Drawings.

The trusses were assembled on site and wrestled in place by the campers.  It was no easy task!

The buildings were modular in construction, and were supported on post and beam posts allowing the dorms to integrate nicely with the existing terrain. Each building was covered with native oak and pine from the surrounding forest.

Each of the 4 dorms was constructed for about $9,000.00 (1980 money).
