Copying and Pasting Web Parts

When it isn't necessary to copy an entire page. Netscape will allow you to Copy and Paste portions of WebPages!

In case you have never used the Windows Copy, (Cut) and Paste functions here is an exercise!


Hold down your Left Mouse Button and "wipe" the pointer across this line of text...!


When the "line of text example " is Blue highlighted..., ( as in this example below)
Hold down your Right mouse button and wipe

(Release the Left Mouse Button on "that part" of the text you want to copy..., )


Remember...,
You can scroll down, as you hold down the Left Mouse Button..., to "highlight" more than one line of text if you want if you want)

(With the text Highlighted) From your Netscape Toolbar...,
Choose File, ...then "Click-on" Copy

Netscape will copy your highlighted text to the Windows Clipboard.

You can now Paste the text to any application Windows will allow you! (e.g. Your e-mail window)  ...and you can use this technique to transfer information to other applications such as word processors...,

This is particularly useful..., because you can "transfer" Internet information from the internet to your Word Processor (or E-Mail window) without re-typing!


If you cannot understand this process..., (from these instructions) ask someone for help!
Copying text (and Images) to the Windows Clipboard..., is absolutely essential to your WebStudy education.
Remember..., in "other" Windows applications (not Netscape)..., the Right Mouse Button will allow the Cut, Paste, and Copy options!

In Netscape..., you must go through the Netscape Toolbar File Menu.
