Graduate Admission Criteria
Applicants must meet or exceed the University of Oklahoma Graduate College Requirements. Additionally, applicants should have, or be about to, successfully complete coursework for an aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related degree program.
To have a competitive application, applicants should meet or exceed:
- 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for the most recent two years of their academic work
- Verbal GRE Score: > 157
- Quantitative GRE Score: >163
- Analytical Writing GRE Score: > 4
Previous research experience and publications will also be a significant factor in an applicant's evaluation, especially for the Ph.D. program. Recommendation letters and other demonstrations of academic and research skills will be taken into account as well. When selecting The University of Oklahoma as one of your GRE score recipients, please only use the institutional code 6879 (without the addition of any departmental code).
Applications will be reviewed by the faculty selected by the applicant on the AME/CoE applications.
Students are expected to participate fully and effectively in all classroom educational activities. For this reason, the University requires all students for whom English is not a native language to demonstrate satisfactory language proficiency by earning a score of 550 (written), 213 (computer-based), 79 (IBT) or greater on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) examination before being admitted.
