CS Giving Opportunities

Home to more than 600 undergraduate students, 100 graduate students, and 17 faculty, the School of Computer Science is one of the fastest growing disciplines in the college.  To ensure CS students have the facilities, programs and teaching excellence needed to succeed, the school must secure strategic resources to recruit, retain and graduate the very best.

You have the ability to change lives and contribute to the success of CS. Whether you would like to make an annual gift to the School or set up your own named scholarship fund, there are infinite possibilities. This is where you pass the torch and leave your Sooner legacy within the Gallogly College of Engineering.

Here are some strategic areas where support is needed most.

Student Scholarships and Fellowships

  • Undergraduate Scholarships
  • Student Teaching Scholar Awards
    • To support those undergraduate and graduate students who assist with required undergraduate courses
  • Graduate Fellowship Funds
    • To recruit students into the Accelerated Dual Degree program as well as recruit outstanding Masters and Ph.D. students.

Faculty Support:

  • Professor of Practice
    • To provide support to students in the Software Studio and teach the software engineering course.
  • Professorships in CS
    • In the areas of Computer Security, Data Science, and Software Engineering
    • Increased enrollment in CS courses drive the need for additional faculty, as well as the ever expanding knowledge in the CS discipline.

Program Support:

  • Software Studio Team Leads
    • Funding needed to support student teams participating in programming, game development, and app development competitions.
      • The Software Studio is an innovative space for students to work across disciplines to develop a product or app, as well as learn new programming languages and tools from industry professionals and other students.
