Before the start of each fall semester, the Women in Engineering program hosts the Halliburton Women's Welcome. This program is designed to assist incoming freshman and transfer women students transition to the study of engineering and the University of Oklahoma campus. Students will move into the residence halls early and spend quality time with faculty, staff, alumnae, and students from various engineering disciplines in both the Gallogly College of Engineering and Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering. Through these interactions, participants will get a jump start on forming unique connections that will ensure their success as engineering students. From those who participate, a committee decides on 5 outstanding students to receive scholarships that are awarded at the banquet that concludes the event.
