Admiral William J. Crowe, Jr. Outstanding IAS Student Award

An IAS student that has demonstrated high academic achievement, a commitment to public service and a desire to pursue a career in global affairs.

Student Travel Support Grant

IAS graduate and undergraduate student travel for research and educational activities.

Internship Support Grant

IAS undergraduate and graduate students for travel and housing support related to international internship activities.

International Activism Award

Undergraduate students in the Department of International and Area Studies who have a distinguished record of academic achievement and have demonstrated significant commitment to international affairs.

Thomas W. Adams Best Paper Award

Best paper that addresses any aspect of conflict resolution, affecting any country that borders the Mediterranean Sea.

Latin American Studies Best Paper Award

Best paper on any Latin American topic by an undergraduate major or minor in the College of International Studies.

Iranian Studies Best Paper Award

Best undergraduate paper on a topic in the area of Iranian Studies.

The College of International Studies offers many study abroad scholarship opportunities.  Click on the name of the scholarship for information and criteria. 

Any student unable to complete the program will be required to return the full amount of the award to The College of International Studies.

Deadline for the following applications is February 15.
The following scholarships are for all majors.



Philip Farish Scholarship

Priority given to the fields of science, technology, engineering and math

Seymour Feiler Scholarship

Study in Clermont-Ferrand, France

Ambassador Perkins Scholarship

Study in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, South and Central America. 

CIS Board Of Visitors Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate students.  Preference given to IAS students.

Millie Schafer Sitzman Award

Undergraduate students enrolled in a program of international study.

Molly & David Boren Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate students with financial need with preference given to IAS majors

Student Athlete Travel Abroad Scholarship

Student athletes participating in OU study abroad programs

St. Elijah's & Anthony Shadid Scholarship

IAS majors

Mary & Don Sherman International Networking Scholarship

IAS majors who take part in an international networking opportunity

Cole Frates Endowed Scholarship

SIAS students who study in Latin America or Europe with extra consideration for students who wish to study in Holland

Mehdi Firoozabadi Iranian Studies Language Scholarship

IAS students seeking to further language education in Parsi, Farsi or other Persian language

Paula Throckmorton Zakaria and Fareed Zakaria Scholarship

Must be a full-time, regularly enrolled student in IAS and participating in a College of International Studies study abroad program. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have a demonstrated financial need.

The University of Oklahoma International Advisory Committee (IAC) International Student Emergency Relief Scholarship

The IAC Emergency Relief Scholarship is administered by the International Advisory Committee to provide emergency assistance to international students who have experienced emergencies leading to unexpected financial obligations that they are unable to meet with their available financial resources. Amounts awarded typically do not exceed $1,000.

Other Scholarship Opportunities for International Students

Norman Lions Club International: International Student of the Month

The Norman Lions Club provides a $200 scholarship to an exceptional international student from the University of Oklahoma during the months of October, November, February, March and April. The goals of this program are to increase the diversity of the Norman Lions Club weekly meetings and ensure that international students become exposed to one of a number of service clubs that represent a unique aspect of American culture.  Contact Kaydee Dyer for more information.
