Engineering is a challenging and rewarding career; however, there is a shortage in the number of students choosing to pursue an engineering career. Science and engineering jobs are in high demand, with these fields growing three times as fast as the growth in the overall employment market. The U.S. Department of Labor expects that employment of engineers will grow 11 percent between 2006 and 2016, but the number of students graduating with degrees in these industries is lagging behind.
The University of Oklahoma College of Engineering aims to change this by increasing understanding of what engineers do and introducing students to the varied and exciting opportunities the engineering field has to offer.
