College of Engineering Fall Convocation

10:00 a.m.

Candidates please arrive by 9:30 a.m.


Convocation is a formal ceremony for College of Engineering Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy graduates and their guests. The College of Engineering Convocation will be held at the Oklahoma Memorial Union in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom, 900 Asp Ave, Norman, OK, on Saturday, December 13, 10:00 a.m. Degree candidates and graduates need to arrive by 9:30 a.m. to line up for the processional. Each graduate is recognized and photographed with the Dean as his/her name is announced. Graduates must wear cap and gown.

Parking is limited. The Oklahoma Memorial Union Parking Garage will be available. For other options, visit the University Parking Map. Please allow plenty of time for parking.

We ask you to RSVP for Convocation by completing the Convocation Response Form by December 5 with the number of guests (limit of five) who will be attending.


All graduates participating in Convocation must wear cap and gown. You may purchase these during Graduation Gear Up, or you may order Commencement invitations, cap, gown and other graduation related items at the University Bookstore. Order early! They can be contacted at (405) 325-3511 or

If you are a candiate for MS or PhD, please check with the bookstore for appropriate regalia.


Family, friends and guests are invited to the Fall Convocation. The Molly Shi Boren Ballroom is located on the third floor of the Union, an elevator is located on the north side.

Special accommodation parking is available in the Oklahoma Memorial Union Parking Garage. 


Professional photographs will be taken of each graduate as he/she is introduced. Individual photos will also be taken. This service is provided at no charge to the graduate. A complimentary color proof will be mailed to you after Convocation. There will be no additional solicitation.

Approximately fifteen weeks after your final semester, the Office of Admissions and Records will mail diplomas to degree candidates who have been cleared for graduation. All tuition and fees must be paid to the University or a hold will be placed on your diploma. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the Office of Admissions and Records to request your diploma once the fees have been paid.

Requests for transcripts must be made in writing to the Office of Admissions and Records ten weeks after the semester has ended. There is no charge for official transcripts. Fall 2014 graduates are encouraged to participate in the full Commencement and Convocation events May 8 and 9, 2015. Watch for times and locations to be posted on the OU Commencement website. Please check your OU e-mail account in March as you will receive an e-mail regarding registration for Spring Convocation 2015.
