Volunteer as a Commencement Ambassador and Earn Money for Your Student Organization!
Individuals and groups may volunteer to serve as Commencement Ambassadors at Commencement and earn money for their Student Organizations.
Commencement Ambassadors serve as hosts for the Commencement ceremony, and may be responsible for welcoming guests, handing out programs, directing guests to open seating, and creating an overall friendly and celebratory environment for our OU graduation candidates and guests. Commencement Ambassadors will be asked to arrive at a location to be determined at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 9. Half of your group will be required to stay until the end of Commencement, approximately 9:30 p.m. Click here for a map of The Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

International Flag Bearers
As a part of the University-wide Commencement ceremony, international flags representing some of the home countries of faculty, staff and students are presented by international flag bearers as part of the processional and ceremony.
International students and internationally focused groups may volunteer to serve as International Flag Bearers at Commencement and earn money for their Student Organization. Students who volunteer singularly to be International Flag Bearers may designate a student organization to receive payment for their volunteer time. Student organizations will receive $15 per volunteer (up to $225 per organization).
International Flag Bearers must report to the Bizzel Memorial Library South entrance by 6 p.m. dressed in their academic regalia. Students who are not graduating and thus do not have academic regalia will have regalia provided for their use in the Commencement ceremony. Click here for a diagram of the Brooks Mall area.
International Flag Bearers will help lead the processional into the stadium bearing the flags of some of the countries represented at The University of Oklahoma. They will stand with their flags as the National Anthem is sung. Once the National Anthem has commenced, International Flag Bearers will exit the stage area and return to the graduation candidate seating area. Flags will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and specific flags may not be requested.
