Leadership in University Development

Tripp Hall has served in various leadership positions in Alumni Affairs and Development for more than 18 years, most recently acting as vice president and executive director of the OU Alumni Association. He leads OU's Development organization.

JP Audas has served in leadership roles in Student Affairs, Prospective Students and Development. His Special Campaign duties include the OU Scholarship Campaign. He provides leadership to OU college-based Development directors and oversees the Alumni Association.

Barry Feuerborn, Associate Vice President (405) 325-3701

Formerly the associate executive director of OU Alumni Affairs, a position he held since 2003, Barry Feuerborn began his career in higher education with OU’s Prospective Student Services. He manages OU's corporate relations activities and oversees the Development Annual Fund, Data Entry, MIS and Gift Accounting areas.

Kirk Garton, Director of Broad-based Fundraising & Outreach (405) 325-6297

Kirk Garton leads OU’s broad fundraising and stewardship efforts via phone, mail, and the web. He also works on initiatives that enhance OU’s alumni database quality, as well as online-related projects. He joined the Development staff in 1992. Prior to that, Kirk worked in OU Athletics Development for two years and was involved in creating the Sooner Club annual giving effort.

Neil Heeney came to Central Development after 17 years as a fundraiser for the OU College of Engineering. He works with donors on principal and major gifts and advises college-based Development directors.

Paul Massad has been with the University of Oklahoma for 53 years and holds the rare honor of receiving the University’s Distinguished Service Award. He is the former executive director of the OU Alumni Association and has also led planned gift and major gift activities. In this current role, he works with donors on principal and major gifts and advises college-based Development directors.

Stacey Maxon oversees the College of Medicine development initiatives and also coordinates development activities on the OUHSC campus between each of its colleges, departments and programs of study with Central Development.

Eric Melton, Director of Planned Giving and Development (405) 325-8528

Prior to his appointment as director of Planned Giving, Eric Melton was a Gift Planning Officer for five years for the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross, serving Oklahoma and New Mexico. Eric earned his OU bachelor’s degree in 1987 and has been involved in private fundraising since 1989.

An OU alumna and four-year member of the Pride of Oklahoma marching band, Karen Renfroe returned to her alma mater in 1989 to work for Recruitment Services, ultimately serving as its executive director. In 2005, she joined the OU Office of Development, holding the post director of regional development. In her current role, Karen is an integral member of the President’s Associates team and spearheads the program’s efforts to raise support for the mission of the university.

An OU alumnus who has served the university as an instructor and administrator, Thomas White brings a well-rounded perspective of higher education to the Office of Development. Thomas earned his doctoral degree in English from OU in 2011 and then joined the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center staff as assistant director for advancement and external relations. In his current role as director of development communications, he oversees the production of gift proposals and special projects for the university.
